Frequently asked questions

Is China Internet Pass an eSIM?+

No. It does not include cellular data. It is an access layer that uses a working Wi-Fi, local SIM, travel eSIM or roaming connection.

When should I install it?+

Before you travel. Installing and confirming your setup at home avoids unnecessary friction after you arrive in China.

Which devices are supported?+

The initial preview is Apple-first, with iPhone and Mac support planned. Windows and Android support can follow after the first launch cohort.

Does it work on hotel Wi-Fi and mobile data?+

It is designed to work over either, provided the underlying connection itself has internet access.

Will every app work?+

The service is designed around common global communication and work apps. Streaming, banking, corporate-managed devices and apps with their own location rules may behave differently.

Can it help when the hotel Wi-Fi is completely offline?+

No. If ordinary mainland websites also fail to load, the underlying network must be restored first.
